Okay, what a find this was! I’ve got the luxury of knowing Portuguese as a second language, but for those of you who don’t rest assured this hero generator will be a piece of cake to learn after fiddling around for a few minutes. This generator is called the RPGQuest Hero-O’Matic designed by a Brazilian guy (sorry couldn’t find a name!) based on the art of Ronaldo Barata and Pietro Antognioni, the official designers of RPG Quest.

The artwork is quite amazing, and even though it’s purely fantasy based, I’m sure there are more then enough Superlinkers out there that can find a great use for these babies! So get out there and make some fantasy-based supers for your next campaign!

Unleash your inner hero over at SciFi.com! While surfing around the “Who Wants to be a Superhero” website, I noticed that they just released a superhero generator a few days ago!

Go Generate a Hero Today!

Simpson’s MnM Excel Character Sheet was possibly the first of its kind back in the days of First Edition Mutants & Masterminds. Updated to Second Edition, it still remains one of the most supported character sheet gaming tools out there today with decent community support. Check out the sheet for yourself!

What?! G.I.Jow? HeroMachine? Together?!

I’m not sure I need to say anything else about this! Jeff Herbert brings us a version of HeroMachine to fill our nostalgic needs. Go make a hero today! G. I. JOEEEEEE!

I’m not sure what publicity initiative this was done for; I did some digging but couldn’t even find a website for Newsday Inc. It matters not though because the superhero lover community is just as happy with a new generator for their last minute character design needs. HeroMachine does it again with this “cyber journalist” edition. Enjoy!

HeroMachine was one of the first hero generators online. It’s success was unquestionable within superhero fan communities. Throughout the years Jeff Herbert created a few more off-shoots for clients using the same framework. This one here was done for Stan Lee… so how couldn’t it be a good one?! Check it out!

Have you ever been frustrated by an inability to see a character you’ve imagined? Are you constantly asking (all right, begging) your “artist friend” for an illustration because you can’t draw a straight line with a ruler? Now your frustrations are over! Thanks to the HeroMachine, you can dynamically create your own customized character portrait. With intuitive controls and high-quality illustrations, the HeroMachine offers millions of possible combinations that will bring your imagination alive.

These are instructions for installing and setting up the freely available City Of Hero Character Creator from NCSoft.

The first thing you will have to do is download the City Of Hero Character Creator. This is freely and legally available from the Korean City Of Heroes site and from file-sharing networks such as Shareaza (search for “coh_sengsung” or “CCC_Setup”: the file is roughly 200 MB).

Once you download it, you have to install it. This is a little tricky, because the default language for this software is Korean. To change it so that it displays in English, you must first install it and run it once.
